I spent an afternoon photographing these sandpipers chasing the waves back and forth. They are so cute. They chase the tide as it goes out and then when it comes back in they run as fast as they can to escape the waves. It reminds me of a scene from a Monty Python movie, "Run away, run away!" Below is a preliminary sketch for a pastel study I am doing of these delightful birds.

I rarely see a sandpiper every time I'm on the beach. Perhaps it is because they are very selective in the places they would choose to settle in, and most of the time they chose the remote places. By the way, I love your artwork. It's simple and no color at all. But what I love about this one is its simplicity and the fact that it got the perfect photo was amazing!
